A Prayer for Christa Pike; for the Salvation of a Fellow Sinner
Christa Pike is scheduled to be executed tomorrow at 10 am. This post has nothing to do with the justice or injustice of her sentence. It is about the eternal well-being of a fellow sinner...who Jesus desires to be saved by His grace, as I am.
Luk 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Please pray with me:
Jesus, I know that your cross was necessary to pay for my sins just as much as anyone else's. What Christa Pike did to Colleen was horrendous, but I know that much of my Bible was written by 3 murders, and that all sin, including mine, deserves its just wage (Romans 6:23). I know that you love Christa, and I would ask you to reveal yourself to her tonight, as you did to the malefactor (thief) who put his trust in you in his final hours, as he was crucified next to you. In her final hours here on Earth, may Christa put her trust in You for the free gift of salvation that you paid for in full on the cross; believing in your power to cleanse her from all of her sins, and may she experience Your peace that passes all understanding. I would ask that I one day see her on the other side, after I see you face to face as you are (1 John 3:2). I would ask for comfort for Collen's mother tonight and that you would also do a mighty work in her as well. Thank You for being who You are, Amen.
2Pe_3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
